This is the picture that
caught our eye when looking for a new broodmare - or two.
Formerly owned by Anthony
and Deidre Owens from Co. Roscommon, she was a Premier Broodmare, and
had been extensively shown - but never backed. |

|
|
Once she arrived, backing her was the first
step. Not at all difficult, despite the fact she was then 9 years
old. This was her first day with a rider on board |
|
|
|
|
|
|
This was the second!
|
|
|
But we bought her as a brood mare, so back to
business. On 4th May, 2006 she presented us with a large filly (by
Lady's Tralee Raj).
The parents' names dictated hers - Indigo Three
Times a Lady - Trio for short. |

|
|
|
|
|
Born a chestnut, she left us
in no doubt about what colour she would end up. The little grey
specs gave it away. She was a BIG foal - with even bigger ears!
|
|
|
|
|
At 5 weeks, the specs are rather
bigger - as is the filly.
Karina returned to Lady's Tralee Raj
and scanned in foal on 23rd June.
