(16.2 hh) so it looks like she'll end up bigger than Mum and Dad

Surprise had an uncomplicated and problem free
7 months. Since her first day, she has been inquisitive, friendly
and bold (sometimes a touch TOO friendly and too bold.) She has
had minimal supplementary feeding until weaning, and beyond.

Every foal needs a mentor, and for her first 2 years
after weaning, this role was filled by retired HW hunter, Murphy, who
taught her to stand back and mind her manners!!.
|
|
|
|
In the spring of 2006, Surprise was lightly backed -
she was slightly puzzled to find Mum sitting on her back - but totally
unperturbed. Meeting her new husband was a bit more fraught - she
didn't fancy him at first and made her feelings plain by sitting down at
the most inconvenient moment. But finally she relented and we await
her first scan.
