Indigo Irish Draughts and Sport Horses is committed to breeding quality Irish Draughts of the traditional type, and athletic Sport Horses.
Situated on 50 acres of well managed pasture, visiting mares will get the best of care and attention under the personal supervision of
experienced owner/manager, Janet George.

Our dedicated staff includes:

Olivier Gilot - a talented young French rider who has competed to 2* level and has an exceptional talent for backing and schooling young horses. Olivier has been with us for 5 years and is also training to be an equine dental technician.

A new member to our team, John Hughes, is a very experienced event rider and all-round horseman. John will be schooling on and competing some of our young horses, and specialising in re-educating 'problem' horses and jumping training for client's horses. With more than 20 years as a professional rider, John retains great enthusiasm for riding and can find the good qualities in every horse and develop them!

Foaling Services

We offer foaling packages for those without the experience or time to supervise mares closely.

Healthy mums - and healthy live foals - don't just happen! If anything goes wrong, it can quickly become a disaster!! This little chap, enjoying his first day out, is lucky to be alive. He was born in an 'anterior dog-sitter' presentation, meaning one of his hind legs was forward along his back - and we were presented with 3 feet and a nose! Without expert assistance, the foal would have died - and possibly the mare also.

The use of modern foaling alarms and constant checking means mares are always supervised at foaling.
