Little Macha's 2005 Foal

Another Surprise!  But we called her Dawn

We should have learned - but Little Macha didn't look close, and the weather was hot, so she was still out at night.  Plan was to bring her in at 330 days.  She foaled in the early hours of the morning on day 328!  A healthy, happy filly greeted us that morning.

2005 was a good year for Little Macha.  Her Blackthorn filly - which she had at foot when we first saw her - came her to be covered by Lady's Tralee Raj and stayed on to be produced for grading.  Surprise was also presented - and both fillies gained RID status.  With two more fillies already waiting in the wings, the old mare is certainly doing her bit for the breed.
