Farrier
:
Mares should be sent recently attended to by the farrier, without hind shoes. Mares and foals will have their feet trimmed when necessary and the owner will be charged accordingly.

Worming:
Mares and foals will be wormed as required and after consultation with owner and the owner will be charged accordingly.

Veterinary Fees
:
All expenses incurred for visits, examinations and medicines are paid directly to the veterinary surgeon by the stud and will be charged with copy invoice at the end of each month or on collection.

Equine Flu and Tetanus Toxoid Certificate:
Mares must be vaccinated against tetanus and Equine Flu vaccination is recommended.  It is also recommended that pregnant mares are vaccinated against the Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis)

Swabs:
We require mares to be swabbed for Contagious Equine Metritis and that they be blood tested for EVA, no more than four weeks prior to arrival at the stud.

All mares will have an endometrial swab taken whilst in season unless accompanied by a current certificate of cleanliness (including Contagious Equine Metritis).

Visiting Mares:
Mares may be kept stabled or in individual (electric fenced) enclosures if requested. The stud has the right to feed or stable grass kept mares as they consider most beneficial to the care of mare and/or foal if the weather changes for the worse and the owners will be charged accordingly. Keep fees may be raised if a mare is not removed within a reasonable period after the owner has been notified that she is ready for collection.
Mares will receive every possible care, attention and supervision but no responsibility can be taken for accident or disease. Veterinary assistance will be called in when deemed necessary and will be chargeable to the owner. All mares are served at their owner's risk and no responsibility can be accepted for injury, damage or loss caused through trying or serving any mare.

Please Note
:
Mares are covered in hand - and must wear covering boots to avoid serious injury to the stallion and staff.  If mares are bad to handle with their back feet, we reserve the right to charge an additional handling fee!!  Foals at foot are handled with no extra charge.
